  1. Hi Newlife. Is it advisable to inject fillers into my cheeks? I have always wanted to make my cheeks a little plump because it’s so thin and it makes me older than my age. A cosmetic surgeon suggested injecting collagen. Is this safe?

The material that is marketed as collagen here in the Philippines is more often than not silicone in oil form which has been banned for injections since the mid eighties. The other safe filler materials can usually be used in small amounts other wise the cheeks will feel more firm than normal. For me the safest filler material to inject into the face is your own fat cells harvested from the abdomen.

  5. Hi Newlife, I am balikbayan and will be in town for a week only. Do I have enough time to have a noselift? Will it look obvious when a fly out and most important of all is it safe already to travel ?

  6. You need only a week to recover from a standard noselift. Stitches are removed on the 4th day and by that time the swelling will have began to subside. Within a week after the operation the surgeon should be able to tell if an infection should be considered otherwise the patient is allowed to travel already without any problems. The surgery should have healed enough that if the nose gets bumped accidentally the implant would not get displaced that easily.
